Corporate Overview
Hollard, a leading insurance company, launched a campaign called “Big Ads for Small Business” to support small businesses hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. The innovative campaign involved giving away Hollard’s own ad space to these businesses, boosting their visibility and increasing their revenue.
Among the campaign’s success stories are Ronewa Creations, Moja Chicken, and Koni Wines. Lesego and Dinah of Ronewa Creations faced challenges operating in a male-dominated industry and raising capital. The campaign helped their business grow ten times, secure new contracts, and expand their workforce and resources. Moja Chicken’s founder, Letlogonolo Motseeng, struggled during the pandemic, even sleeping in his car for three months. The campaign turned his fortunes around, resulting in nine national franchises and opening doors for his next venture. Koni Wines’ owner, Koni Maliehe, exhausted her savings to start her business, but the campaign helped her establish a successful local online business and secure export contracts.
Twelve small businesses were chosen for the campaign from 300 submissions. Hollard’s team conducted a thorough vetting process to ensure that the chosen businesses could handle the increased attention from the ads. The campaign’s objective was to ensure each business’s growth while amplifying Hollard’s brand as a company committed to creating better futures.
The Big Ads for Small Business campaign’s success highlights the power of innovative solutions and strategic thinking, proving that a win-win impact can be achieved through supporting small businesses and strengthening brand commitment.
